TAHUNANUI
MEETING OF TOWN BOARD
At the ordinary meeting of the Tahunanui Town Board held in the Town Hall there were present: Mr F. VV. Bell, 0. Cunningham, L l '. Hobern, L. Greenslade (chairman), Messrs C. I. L. Ingham, M. O'Sullivan. Mr Day was. granted leave of absence. Accounts amounting to £'l27 5s 7d were passed for payment. CORRESPONDENCE The Nelson City Council wrote advising that the lagoon, on the Sands Reserve has been fenced round. The Health Inspector wrote- that he has commenced the inspection of dwellings in the town district. The District Highways Council No. 11 informed the Board, that the Main Highways Board will in future subsidise in the business area up to a width of 66 feet, and on the remaining portions Ihe Board's subsidy will be limited to a width of 30 feet.
The following resolutions were passed : That tho Town Clerk serve the owners of certain sections with notice to open up the ditch which runs through these properties; that the Board meeting be held on Tuesday evening fortnightly; that notice boards defining the Town District be erected, and that the Chairman interview the Traffic Inspector with reference to speed limits; that a notice board be erected on the Rocks road warning motorists that they must not park their cars on that road ; that fine gravel be put on the footpaths where made up by Rocks road spoil to a width of three feet; that the works committee view the culvert leading from Muraitai street to Parker's road and report to the next meeting; that the subsidiary roads be gravelled where necessary.
