ADDITIONS TO NELSON POST OFFICE

"NO TIME WILL BE LOST" Mr Atmoro forwarded the following tolegram to the Honourable the Postmaster General recently :—"Kindly advise me as to when the much required and long promised additions to the Nelson Post Office will be commenced." To which the following reply has been received from the Hon. K. S. Williams: "In further reply your telegram rei Nelson Post Office position is that draft plans and specifications have been prepared but their completion is being held up owing to the necessity of including in the proposed additions accommodation for special telephone equipment which it is proposed to instal at Nelson. Particulars of the accommodation which would be required could not be definitely decided upon until the return of a Departmental Engineer who visited Australia specially to study the latest development in telephone engineering. The necessary information is now, however, available'and no time' will be lost in completing the plans and calling tenders for the additions, etc., which it is proposed to instal."
