WEDDING

BIRD-THOMAS The wedding took place at the Church of Epiphany, Takaka, recently of Vera,' eldest daughter of Mr and Mrs A. 0. Thomas of Kotinga and Eric, youngest son of Mr and Mrs Walter Bird of Waitapu. The Rev. D. C. Evan performed tin; ceremony..

The bride, whowas given away by her father, wore ivory erope-de chine, tastefully embroidered aVid trimmed with silver lace over satin. A pretty embroidered veil was held in place with a. coronet of orange blossoms. .She carried a bouquet of double white and pink stocks and' asparagus fern. The bride was attended by her sisters, the Misses Daisy and Alice Thomas, as bridesmaid's, both dressed in pink and mauv.e. crepe-de-chine, with hats to tone. They carried bouquets of pink and mauve stocks and asparagus fern. Doreen Bird, niece of the bridegroom and Zena Wadsworth made charming tiny flower girls. Doreen was dressed in 'pink satin and Zena in mauve satin. They carried baskets of pink and mauve stocks. All bouquets were made and presented bv Mrs E. Hitchcock.

'Air Colin Jennings, cousin oi the bridegroom, was best man, and Mr Leslie Thomas,, brother of the bride, was groomsman.

After the ceremony a reception was bold in the Golden Bay Then're. More than 100 guests were present. Mrs Thomas received her guests in a saxe blue repp dress, with hat to tone and carried a bouquet of pink camclias with streamers to match.

The newly married couple late)' left for Blenheim and the Queen Charlotte Sound.

The bride travelled in a beige repp dress knife-pleated and embroidered, with hat to match. The young couple will make their future home at Waitapu.
