Hospital kicked off and immediately forced a corner which proved abortive. Athletic came away with a nice movement, ending in Bourne putting in a fine shot which Thomas caught and sent well down the field.- Kissock swung out to Brown, who put in a. beautiful centre right across the goal, but no one was up to put it in the net, the ball rolling behind the line. Hospital came again, and Dore forced a corner off Muncaster which was put behind. From the kick out the Athletic forwards got well away. Taylor secured the ball but was yards too high' with his shot. Another smart movement by Athletic saw Baxter back heel to Richards who put in a fine shot which Thomas fisted out; but Beveridge lying handy pounced on the ball and with a, well directed shot sent into the net for Athletic. Athletic 1, Hospital 0. Hospital attacked fiercely and Leake put in a stinging drive which Mansell was fortunate in turning around the post for a corner. Two miriutes later Mansell treated a hot shot from Brown in a similar manner, conceding a corner, which was sent behind. From the throw in Deer got possession and put in a clever shot which went over the bar. Athletic now had a turn,,and Baxter hit the post with a fast shot, and from a nice centre by Smith Gould missed an open goal. Baxter put in another, but Thomas cleared in a-'smart manner. Neat work by Willis saw in possession; he finished with a fine centre which Richards drove into the net, giving Thomas no chance. Athletic 3, Hospital 0. Athletic kept up the pressure and the ball was apparently going over the dead line wlien Richards hooked it into goal in a remarkable manner, Thomas caught the ball and threw out. More hot work in the -Hospital goal saw the ball go for a corner which was well placed. Winnie headed out the leather, which fell at Richards feet, and he had no difficulty in adding another goal. Athletic*4, Hospital 0. From the kick out the Hospital forwards got going and a. neat passing movement by the Dickinsons and Leake ended in the latter being a yard wide with his finishing effort. Muncaster now became prominent with some good defensive work, keeping the Hospital right well back. Even play followed until the final whistle blew, ing the scores— Athletic 4, Hospital 0. Mr P. Smalley controlled the game. PRESENTATION OF CUP After the match the President of the Association (Mr W. J. S. Smith) presented the cup to the winners, congratulating them upon their splendid win. Mr W./Richards, captain of the Athletic received the Cup and suitably replied, giving the Hospital team high praise for the fine spirit in which the game was played. Mr A. S. Thomas, captain of the Hospital team, congratulated the Athletic, saying that on the day's play the Athletic fully deserved tbje. Cup. After cheers had been given the proceedings terminated.
