SENSATIONAL DEVELOPMENT AT HAMILTON
WHOLE CHAPTER RESIGNS v

AUCKLAND, 10th August. Sensational developments ?h Anglican Church affairs in Hamilton occurred last night, when at a special meeting of the lesseii, chapter of St. John’s Cathedral, which was elected at a largely attended meeting of parishioners on 30th April, ir. was decided to resign. The chapter held a meeting on Monday night and' unanimously decided that it should resign and that owing to the existing circumstances the parishioners should bo given the opportunity of electing a new chapter, subject to the confirmation of a further meeting to be held. .When tlie motion was put at last night’s meeting only one member voted against it. ‘
Both meetings were attended by a large majority of members. With the resignation of the whole of the chapter the duty has devolved,upon the dean to convene a general meeting of parishioners at an early date to elect a new chapter.
