“FILL THE GAP”
AN opportunity of furthering the case for. the filling of the gap in the NelsonWest Coast railway will be presented by tho meeting to be held in the City Council Chamber to-night. The meeting has been convened by the President of the Progress League with the object of making final arrangements for the big deputation which is to wait op Ministers to press the district’s ’ claims for completion of this long-deferred work. It is hoped to make the deputation fully representative of tho district, and that all local bodies, fruitgrowers and farmers’ organisations, also business concerns, will send delegates to Wellington to assist in impressing upon the Government the great weight of public opinion behind the demand for tho completion of. the railway from Kawatiri to Inangahua Junction. We trust that all public-spirited persons, will lend their support to the League’s efforts.
