three MEN' CONVICTED

WELLINGTON, This Day
Three men, Charles' Edward Anderson, John James CJavton and James Will iam Broderick, were charged to-dav with tho theft of overcoats, hats’ a scarf, and other goods, of the value of £2B Is Gd, from cars, also with breaking a car window. Clayton was further charged with receiving a nickel watch and Anderson with the theft of a travelling rug, overcoat, and alarm clock of the value of £6 12s 6d. The police stated that a considerable amount of this sort of theft was reported. Broderick appeared to be the. leader in the eases preferred, and Clayton the least, concerned. Anderson and Broderick each got twelve months’ imprisonment and Clayton nine months.
