MRS W. KENNING > OVER 150 DESCENDANTS - The funeral took place at Stoke yes--terday afternoon of Mrs Lavinia" Kenning, aged 96, widow of the late Mr W. ', Kenning. , There was a representative - attendance of friends and relatives of .. » the deceased. The Rev. J. Rogers conducted the funeral. Mrs Kenning, who was born at Northampton, England, in 1032, married there and came out to New Zealand with her husband in the ship Emma Colvin which reached Nelson in 1856. Mr Kenning took up farm-. ing at Stoke, and his late wife spent all her long life in the neighbourhood of ... the city. Her husband predeceased her. by 28 years. The deceased had a remarkably large number of descendants. There wero 14 children (of whom 3 daughters and 4 sons are still living), 54 grandchildren, 80 great-grand children and 9 great-great-grandchildren. The surviving sons of the deceased are Richard (Vanguard street), William (Stoke). James (Kawai street), and Arthur (Franklyn street). The three daughters living are Mrs F.
