HONOUR OUR WORTHY PIONEERS
(To the Editor)
■■git;—Miss Bond deserves very hearty thanks for her very ab}e and interesting article on ' "Nelson's old burying ground" in Collingwood street. This is really one of the most historic cemeteries i'n the whole Dominion. In. it rest the .remains of some <>f Nelsfn's most Worthy and most -respepted pioneers.' Tlie side of' the hill top which marks their resting plabes should be a spot for ever sacred; and this small area could very easily, and without much expense to the city be put into a neat and Jtidy state- If » few seats were placed there so much the better. All the' trees there have a history, and every effort should be made to preserve them, but I, for one, would oppose the planting of any more, as that would tend, to obspijre.the glorious views from the homes Which now. cluster on the hill top.—l am, etc:, ' • , s - .
