The English League team defeated Auckland by 14 points,to 9. The latter had only players from outside the city. The game was very fast and opC'n, a feature being the passing movements of the visitors’ backs. Had the local fiveeighths combined better, Auckland would probably have won. England’s score was made up of tries by Frodsham, Fairclough, Rees, and Gwynne, one converted. Auckland’s 9 points came from a try and three penalty goals. 'i
