MEETING (By Telegraph.--Special to “The Mail”, CHRISTCHURCH, 7th August. At Riccarton to-day Beau Cavalier covered a niile by himself, taking 1.57 4-5, but he was not doing his best. Brigadier Bill (A. E. Ellis) and KilI burn (Jarvis) were associated in a school over six hurdles. The pace was on all the way and both horses jumped well, Brigadier Bill showing to better advantage than his mate/ Red Fuchsia took 1.54 for a mile, carrying a big’ weight, and Peneus, under similar conditions, ran seven furlongs in 1.36 2-5.
