RESTORATION OF MONARCHY WOULD MEAN CIVIL WAR
ATHENS, 6th August. • M. Venizelos, interviewed, said, that outwardly the restoration of ihe nion archy was not before the electorate’ but it loomed large in the background. If the Royalists were returned to power, and attempted to bring back a King, Greece would again be plunged -ihto civil war. He regarded it as certain that the Royalist's would immediately hold a mock plebiscite, although they had twice refused’ the plebiscite proposed by the Republicans. 'j.
