STRANDING OF H.M.S. DAUNTLESS
/ CAPTAIN DISMISSED United Press Association—By Eleotrio Telegraph—Copy righ t. Australian Preis Aisooiatiou LONDON, 6th August. Captain K. D. W. MacPherson, of H.M.S. Dauntless, which stranded near Halifax, Nova Scotia, has / been dismissed from the ship and reprimanded. The court-martial found that he had not checked the commander’s course. The defence was that lie had every confidence in the commander, and .was fully justified in accepting the course set by such a capable officer. (Commander Beatty was also dismissed from the ship and reprimanded.)
