INCENDIARISM
ATTEMPT TO BURN SHED • An apparent attempt was made last night to set fire ,10 a small shed at the rear of R. Dayman and Co’S garage in Trafalgar street. Fortunately the fire was discovered at 10 o’clock before it had gained any hold and a bucket or two of water was sufficient to extinguish. it. Some straw and crumpled paper had obviously been, set on fire and then stuffed underneath the door of the shed. It is not likely that the garage would have been endangered but the fire could easily have spread to an adjacent wickerwork furniture factory; . V The shed was on fire some time ago but the cause of the blaze then toas unknown. , »
This is the second ense of attempted incendiarism that has occurred in Nelson within the last few weeks.
