•Mr R. Allan, “Ronaki”, Ngatitama street, who has been at Ilelensville for a considerable time, is at present in Nelson. He is much improved in health.
The death lias occurred at Auckland of Captain Thomas Bra id wood, for many years in the Union Steamship Company’s service, and also commander of several vessels of the Canterbury Steamship Company. He retired from the sea in 1924.—Press Association.
A Christchurch Press Association telegram reports the death of Mr. Harold Lowry Penny, aged 44, Christchurch manager of the Canadian National Steamships. He was' horn in England and was well known throughout New Zealand.
The sudden death is reported from Wanganui of Mrs Russell, wife of Mr A. 0. Russell, manager of the local branch of the A..M.P. Society, and formerly of Nelson. The deceased, who was the eldest daughter of the late Dr. Leggat(, of Nelson, resided here for many years, where she had numerous friends who Will greatly regret to learn of her death. Miss C. o'Rovko, head of Brownies in New Zealand, is visiting Nelson province and will insjpect all the Brownies at 4 o’clock on Thursday afternoon at the Cathedral Sunday school.
