STARTLING EFFECTS
BRITISH PSYCHOLOGY
ANOTHER SURPRISE FOR GERMANS
United Press Association—By Eleotrio '■ Telegraph—Copyright. United Service. ,
BERLIN, sth August. Germans were surprised at British psychology when they saw the heroism of their own sailors presented in the British Falklands Battle film. Now they are completely overwhelmed by a letter from the Olympic runner Lowe and companions, % written to Doctor Peltzer regretting, that his illness pre-, vented the German champion showing his best form.
The effect of the letter is startling. The "Vdssische -Zeitung" says:—"We might envy these gentlemen, for doubtless- we should never have thought of this beautiful gesture. There is a fundamental difference between English and German sport. In England sport always .remains a game; here it has become -a national affair."
