A move in the direction of a local scheme of daylight saving has been made by the Wanganui Labour Representatio'i Committee, which comprises affiliations of a number of inclustiial unions in the city, including the Wanganni branch of the New Zealand Labour Party. The following resolution was passed at the monthly meeting of the committee on Saturday evening: 'That in view of the decision of Parliament not to re-intro-duce daylight saving, this committee is of the opinion that.some scheme should be inaugurated to bring it into effect for the city'of Wanganui, and to-that end will support any steps which might be taken by other interested bodies to bring into operation such a scheme."
