The omission of the necessary provision in the legislation appointing the Sydney Civic Commission has led In an unexpected position, as no fund has been established from which the entertainment of distinguished visitors can he paid, ami the Chief Commissioner. Mr Fleming, must fool the bill until legislative relief is afforded. The Lord Mavor was formerly voted £ISOO per annum for purposes of entertainment.
