WAPITI HUNTERS

STALKRRS RETURN (By Telegraph.—Press Association) CORE, 12th April. Two parlies r.f wapiti hunters reached Gore to-dav, homeward bound. Messrs Thomas (Auckland), Holmes (Frankton Junction), Ormnston (Papaloctoe), and Cole (Nelson) iiad a. most successful trip. Entering the block at Te Allan, they hunted towards Lake-Sutherland. Mr Holmes secured a ten-pointer and a thir-tren-pointer wapiti, and Mr Thomas a twelve-pointer. Mr Holmes told an "Ensign" reporter that, the party were well pleased. Wapiti were sighted on the evening of the second day. Then mist l ; intervened. Mopwapiti were seen four days later. Mr Thomas also found a dead fonrteenpointer. This head was brought in with the others.
