BREACHES OF AWARD
SAWMILLIXC COMPANY FINED On the 7th February last, proceedings were taken at the Magistrate's Court. Haveloek. by Mr M. Ross, district inspector of factories. Nelson, against the Maungn Rimu Sawmilling Co., Ltd.. of Havekick. on the following charges: (i) Failing to keep a proper wages ami time book; (2) Failing to pay wages in full at not more than fortnightly intervals to Norman Wells; CM Patrick Daly; and (-1) Reginald Kerr. The defendants, who were represented by Mr R. R. Mills, secretary of the firm, entered a plea of not guilty on the first charge and of guilty on the other charges. The Magistrate entered a conviction on all charges, the matter of fixing I lie penalties being held over and the eases adjourned to <;ive the defendants an opportunity to jiav arrears of wages due. The cases were finally heard on the 3rd hist., when the Magistrate imposed penalties of Co and costs in each case, the total penalties and costs being £22 Lis.
