Hnia v. Petone. was plaved as an opening match at Easter :md was enjoyed by all, especially the visitors. This is borne out by the fact that thev have written again this year to arrange another match for Easter.— Manny Cup match :' Owing to the inability to arrange a suitable date the above match was not played. It is hoped that in future a date' will be definitely fixed bv the union, and a recommendation has been put forward to that effect. —Balance sheet : The expenditure for the year is practically the same as for the previous season. Receipts, however, show a falling off of approximately £7. This is accounted for by the tact that proceeds from dances during the previous year netted approximately iM whereas, "owing to weather conditions this year, the receipts from the annual ball 'barely balanced the expenditure. 'lhe position as disclosed is not very satisfactory, but the finances of the club should improve during the incoming season.—Social functions: The club held its annual ball on the 3rd of June. Socially it was a, great success, although no profit resulted. A complimentary danco was held for the Petone football team, and this proved a very enjoyable fmiction. It is gratifying to note that a number of the club's players were •elected for representative honours: and these players are to be congratulated on having gained this distinction. In conclusion the committee wish to thank all those who so willingly assisted the club, especially the lady 'supporters, whose help was so invaluable. and trnst. through the united efforts of all members, the incoming season will be a successful one.
