The death is announced at Wellington of Mrs Nieol McNicol, who was "a daughter of the late Captain .lames Low (late Harbourmaster, Nelson).
Mr ftoorge Capper, of Christchurch, for many years connected with the Christchurch "Press" and "Lyttelton Times" arrived in Nelson this morning on a short holiday. Mr Capper is an old and respected identity of Nelson also, having arrived here in 1855.
Mr Ceo. Clarke, formerly of the local branch of the Telegraph Olliee, but. now of Dunedin, is on a holiday visit. :o Nelson.
The death occurred suddenly at Nelson yesterday of Miss Frances Giles, clerk to the Collingwood County Council for si.me years past. Tin' deceased had not been in the best of health, and had been granted leave of absence from her duties. The late Miss Giles was a keen tennis player, and was a frequent competitor at the Bay tournaments. She was held in high esteem and her death will be greatly deplored by her many friends and business associates.
