(By Telegraph.—Press Association)
NEW PLYMOUTH.'This Day
The Taranaki Chamber of Commerce last night discussed the report presented to the Wellington Harlxiur Board by Mr W. Mitchell on the subject of flat rates for freight front overseas ports, and advocating the concentration of overseas shipping at the main ports. During the discussion it was elicited that the transhipping and other charges at Wellington added greatly to the costs of the goods at New Plymouth, and that direct shipment to and from New Plymouth made a great saving to the district. A committee was set up tn draft a reply 10 Mr Mitchell.
