The Agricultural Department announced the condition of the winter wheat on the Ist of April as 68.8 per pent, normal, com pa reel with 8-1.5 per cent, for 1927. and 31.9 per cent for the average condition during the past ten veni’s. There was a decline in the con dition of the wheat of 17.2 points from Ist December, 1927, to the Ist April, 1928, compared with the average decline during the past ten years, of 2.1 points between these dates.
