WELLINGTON. This Day

The Auckland and Wellington drafts of the special force of military police, recruited to replace the marines in \\ esi ern Samoa, arrived in Trent ham this morning to undergo a hriel course of training before embarking. Ihe southern complements arrive to-morrow. 1 here were nearly 500 applications for the 74 vacancies. The Auckland quota is 22, Wellington 18, Christchurch and Dunedin 13 each. The remainder is made up of five non-iommissioned officers and three officers. They will leave on the 21st April.
