In the Sheffield shield match against Queensland, Victoria in the first innings matle 300—Beckett 47, Morton not' oui 23. Bowling: Oxcuham took six wickets for 79 runs.
Queensland in the first innings have lost two wickets for 180 runs. The weather was fine and the wicket in good order.
•Oxenham, who was in fine form, always had the batsmen in difficulties, lie was sometimes unplayable. Queensland made a good start and batting carefully in tin- opening stages of the innings wore down the Victorian attack.
