SEVERE STORM
IN NEW SOUTH WALES HOUSES UNROOFED (By Eleotrio Telegraph—Copyright) (Australian & N.Z. Cable Association) (Received 6th Feb., 10.10 a.m.) SYDNEY, This. Day. Severe wind and thunderstorms _ were experienced in the Riverina district during the weekend for the second time within a few weeks.
The township of Henty was flooded. Two inches of rain fell in half an hour and considerable damage was done to roads at Yerong creek. • •■ • A tornado unroofed several business houses, and telephone and telegraph lines were blown down.
At Uranquinty roofs were lifted off sheds, trees uprooted, and many fallowed paddocks were badly scoured. Fruit trees suffered much damage. A cloudburst near Corobimilla caused a washaway of four or five chains'of railway. An earthquake at Wellington caused people to rush into the streets. Windows were broken and plaster shaken from the ceilings.
