SWIMMING SPORTS
AT BATHS TO-MORROW EVENING
Considerable interest is being taken in the swimming carnival to be held at the municipal baths to-morrow evening. Good entries have been received for all events, there being 18 each for the 100 yds and, f>6 2-3 1 yds; j£fs 33'p3y:d3 fadtes', and % for the girls""race.' Included in the'eompefitors are 15 from Blenheim. The seating accommodation has been erected, and spectators will be able to witness the sports in comfort. The star attraction will be the appearance of Misses Magee and Champion. Miss Magee recently won the 100 yards' ladies' championship of Auckland, defeating Miss Stockley, the 100 yards New Zealand ladies' champion in 67secs. Miss Champion is the girls' 220 yards intermediate champion of Auckland and New Zealand. Recently she broken the New Zealand record for this event, covering the distapce in 2min 52 3-ssec.
Competitors' passes can be obtained from the secretary or the caretaker of the baths.
