BATHING IN THE MAITAI

Sir, —It is almost universally known that the pool in. the Maitai known as "Big Hole" is patronised solely by men bathers for whom a shed has been provided. This shed is not in a fit state to be used, making it necessary for bathers (o undress outside. Yesterday (Sunday) about a dozen men dressing on the bank were surprised by a party of ladies, which created an embarrassing situation for al! present. Our purpose in 'writing is to ask whether the abovementioned stretch of the Maitai might not be set aside, exclusively for men bathers.—l am, etc.,
