RIOT AT ALDERSHOT
CELEBRATION OF HOGMANAY PIPER PLAYS BAGPIPES LONDON. 4th Jan. Like the Pied Piper, a Scottish piper marched through the. streets of Aldershot at the height of the riot which look place as an outcome, of the Hogmanay celebrations, and immediately the men responded to the skirl of the bagpipes and marched in formation to the barracks. ' Later the. rioting m the Salamanca barracks broke out afresh, and scores of windows were Rinashed, and the men rushed to the police station and ineffectually demonstrated for the release of a comrade.
