Tho "Daily Express" says a new chapter in British agriculture is expected as tho result of a discovery introduced into England from China by , way of Germany. This consists in the development of enormous potentialities of grain corn by firstly planting in a carefully prepared seed bed and then transplanting ia ordinary corn land by the aid of ma-' chinery, saving nine-tenths of the labour. It is claimed that a crop of 130 bushels to the acre is ■, obtainable as against, tho present British average of 32. If successful, Britain would soon cease to depend upon foreign corn and the prosperity of agriculture in the. homeland would be restored.
