Cable i association) (Received 17th January; 12.30 p.m.) •WASHINGTON, 16th January. The United States Senate went on reccrdi as favouring a reduction 'of the existing Republican tariff schedules. It adopted Mr McMaster's resolution stating that such revision should bo made to establish agriculture on a basis of equality with industry. The vote was 54 to S 4. . Twelve mid western Republicans joined with the .almost solid Democratic forces' to secure the adoption of tho resolution, these, being Messrs Blaine, Borah, Crookhart, Capper, Frazier, Howell,' Lafollette, McMaster, Norbeck," Nbrris, Nye, and Pine.', . , Only two Democrats voted, against it.
