:'., i WELLINGTON, This-Day. , (A report by a forest ranger that he saw what might.be the remains of a 'plane resolves itself into a grey rock - almost covered by white lichens. - A ranger also reported black smoke ' which looked as if it came from oil, ! ' about a mile from May morn, in the upper waters of the Hutt river. A search by a 'plane showed nothing but many new landslides. AERIAL SEARCH~~ABANDONED ■ WELLINGTON, 16th Jan. Captain Findlay, who flew up from Christchurch last week for an aerial search of the Tararuas and surrounding country, intends to fly back this after-. ' I,00n; BLENHEIM, 16th Jan. Captain Buckley this afternoon received instructions from Wellington to return 1 in-Ahe DH9 to Christchurch, and the; 'plane left here at 2.40 in splendid clear weather.
