MEETING OF EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE An executive .meeting of the Waimoa Cricket Association was held at Bright-, water, the following delegates .being' present: \V. liawkes, E. Duncan, S. Newman, R- Eyles. C. Burnett. Mr Duncan was voted to the chair. Alter a lengthy discussion regarding the services of the coiich, it was decided on the motion of Messrs Newman and Eyles that in future association nominees assemble at Brightwater ground for instruction, and also that collection lists be handed in to the secretary not later than 31st January. . _ Mr E. Duncan tabled a notice of motion regarding a rule passed at the annual meeting that all representative matches be played at Wakefield, that this rule lie deleted, and all representative matches be left in the hands of the executive to appoint the. ground. The secretary to call a special meeting to deal with same. - As to dates for the Newman shield, it was decided on the motion of Messrs Hawker, and Newman, that Nelson be asked to allot January 27-28 as suitable d'avs as the Waimea. Association is unable'to plav on January 20-21. It was hoped that Nelson could see its way clear to accept the suggested dates as +his match is always one of the best. The sum of £5 16s 66! was handed to the secretary by Messrs C. Hill and S. Smith, organisers of a dance in aid of the association, and th'ei secretary was instructed to write a letter conveying the association's appreciation of thenactions. IX was also decided .to write a letter to Mr A. Robinson for having conveyed Mr Taylor, the cricket coach, to Brightwater on several occasions. On the motion of Messrs Duncan and Hawkes it was decided that the secretary's action be endorsed with regards to the allocation of proceeds the'ground at the Wellington-Waimea match.. , . , i The executive viewed with some alarm the unnecessary postponement of matches and felt that in future forfeitures should take place when matches are not played.
