A MAORI’S SUICIDE
GRIEVING OVER WIFE’S DEATH (United Press Association) TAURANGA, This Day. A native named. Rene Ranui, aged 27, wa;; found shot yesterday afternoon at yVairsapu. native settlement. He was alive when found, and said he. grieved iiver'.'the loss' of his wife, who died a month ago from typhoid fever. Ranui was removed to the hospital and died three hours later. At an inquest this morning a verdict was returned that he died of a gunshot wound self-inflicted while in a state of depression.
