SUMMER SCHOOL
CRICKET MATCH NORTH V. SOUTH Yesterday afternoon the men students at the Teachers Summer, School played a cricket match between the representatives of the North Island and those from fne South. The result was a win for the South by 22 runs, the scores being South Island 124, North 102. The best .scorers for the South were Sanders 46. Palmer 18. Oldham 16, East 14 and -Milrter 12. For the North Wilson made 4(# Still 22, McKenzie 10 and Walker 8. ~v ■ Bowling for 'the North Walker took 3 wickets for 13 and Fittall 3 for 26. Milner 4 for 3 was the Best bowler for the South. . A team picked from the teach«rs will play a local eleven next Wednesday. TRIP TO TAKAKA A trip to Takaka was arranged for the students to day, and 110 left in a long procession of cars at 8 o'clock this morning. Pohara Beach, the Onakaka Iron Works and other interesting places will be visited. The party will return about 10 p.m. to-night. To-morrow a number of. tramping enthusiasts will do the Dun Mountain trip, and will be away all day, returning about 6 o'clock to-morrow evening. Bishop Sadlier has, at the request of the students, consented to take the evening service at .the Cathedral to-morrow, and a large number of students, will attend.
