WELLINGTON, 12th January. . The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency, Ltd., Wellington, .report that the third Wellington sale ,cJ: vthe season concluded yesterday. The'Total offering was about ,27,000 bales, and about 98 per cent, was cleared under the hammer. There was a full, bench of buyers-representing all manufacturing centres, and bidding was keen andl sustf.ined right throughout the sale. Bradford competed freely for all lots suitable to their requirements, and France and the Continent were keen bidders. A feature of the sale was the extremely keen competition for halfbreds- and fine crossbreds, and these showed an advance of lid to 2d on the December sale. Coarse and medium crossbreds were from §d to better, and lambs', wool from 2d "to 3d. Merinos were slightly.easier than in December. Wools classed by us in store met with excellent competition, and binned wools realised very satisfactory prices. Messrs Dalgety and Co., Ltd., report having received advice from their Wellington house regarding the third Wool sale of the season, held in Wellington yesterday :—Keen sale,' sold 98 per cent. American buying very pronounced. Super American style wools average l£d to 2d better other grades. Good crossbred 2d, average inferior Id to l^d; iambs 2d to 3d. Lambs, keen demand. French, Australian, English buyers competing excitedly. Bellies, pieces .sol.d par November. France, Germany'purchased bulk these wools.
