CAUGHT RED-HANDED
BURGLARS IN AUCKLAND (United Press Association) AUCKLAND, This Day. Police officers and taxi drivers yesterday morning at about 2 o'clock arrested three young men in the premises of C. H. Drysdale Ltd., fruit merchants. and ale, stout and spirit merchants, in Little Queen street, in the actlof leaving with a. sackful of selected brands of"the best, whisky and oilier spirits. An entrance was gained through an iron grating leading to an underground cellar being removed under cover oi darkness. Once in the cellar they made their way to the bond loom, using a jemmy to force the door. A passing iaxi driver had his attention drawn by a voice from within and in a few minutes a* policeman and five taxi drivers were on the scene. The men were caught in the act pi tampering with the back door lock. All will appear in the Magistrate's Court to-day. Before the Police Court, ITaiTV Collins, Peter Kelly (seaman), and William Martin (fireman) were charged with breaking and entering and stealing liquor " of the value of £l2 10s, ami were, remanded for a week.
