CITY' ENGINEER'S REPORT The City Engineer (Mr J. G. Littlejolin) reported:— Streets and footways: The works chargeable to General Account have been confined to the approaches to the Trafalgar street bridge mid the baths. —Drainage,: Tlie system is running free except the Washington Valley pressure main which has"been blocked for some time. —Reserves: The usual routine maintenance only is being done. I propose to. proceed with the topping and removal of trees on the Botanical Hill as recommended by the committee. —Loans: Work on the approaches of Trafalgar street bridge is Hearing completion. The sewer at Queen's road is completed and the Stanley Crescent branch will be gone on with* as soon as arrangements can be made with the property owners. The formation work will be started this week. At King's Acre some further spoil has bean delivered from the Bock's road, but removal of further material will have to be'discontinued in order to reserve the requirements for the -Sands Reserve. It was resolved on the motion of Councillor Watson, that tenders be called for the carting of 500 yards of spoil from the Haven road hill for filling in King's Acre.' . . ....
