ARTESIAN WATER
FIRST FLOW IN WELLINGTON (United Press Association) WELLINGTON,' This Day Twenty-five years agoi, the firm of Thompson, and Lewis,bored on their premises in Tory street ifor artesian water, good water being a necessity of their business. A stream was struck, but soon failed. -V ! _ About six months ago,, on the advice of a water diviner, they had another try ,and 500 feet down obtained what appears to he a more permanent supply of pure soft water. The work took three and a-half months and the water rises 20 feet above the ground. If.permanent this will he the first artesian water obtained in Wellington.
