South Australia, Victoria in the first innings have lost two s wickets for 305 runs; ' Woodfull. 43, Ponsford 133, Hendry not out 95, Ryder not out 22. Rain in the morning had not damped the covered wicket, but the outfield was slow and dead, and a short drizzle in the forenoon made conditions tricky. After a slow start there was brilliant and interesting cricket. Ponsford and Heridry for tho second wicket added 164 in quick time, Hendry and Ryder then keeping things mo.v'ing merrily till rain stopped, play for the day at 5.30..
