HAMPDEN SCHOOL GALA
TUTS AFTERNOON AND TO-NIGHT The Hampden street school gala and fair opened this afternoon ill brilliant weather. In the absence of Mr 11. ALmoiVM.P., the Mayor, Mr W. J. Mdf-. fatt, opened the fair before a very large attendance. A children's 'fancy dress parade started at 2 p.m. followed by a fancy march by the' Hampden street school girls. Throughout the afternoon the Regiment Rand rendered selections and various sports events were held, There was brisk buying at the numerous stalls, while the side shows proved great attractions, A very attractive programme has been arranged for to-night, including exhibitions by the Hampden Girl Guides and gymnastics by members of the Y.M.C.A. The side shows will continue arid fully replenished stalls after the afternon buying, will await those who wish to make purchases. The fair will he enlivened by orchestral numbers. With such, a wealth of attractions a full evenings entertainment should await all visitors to Hampden street school to-night.
