Samoan Affairs being presented to Parliament this session are somewhat remote, there is a possibility that a discussion on Samoan matters may take place. The Leader of the Opposition (Mr H. E. Holland) asked Mr Contes when the House met to-day whether the report of tile Royal Commission would tie presented to the House before Mio close of the session, and also whether Mr Coates would say on what day he proposed to lake tho report of tho Joint Samoa Committee.

Tho Prime Minister replied that the report of tho Joint Committee was ready for presentation now. Mr Holland: “When?”

Mr Coates:'“At any suitable time. 1 don’t propose to take it to-day unless wc get. through some business.” The report of the Royal Commission had been ■signed-by Hie Governor-General and was in tho Prime Minister’s office, but bo did not know..the, nature of its contents. The usual course was for Cabinet to consider such' reports before they were laid on the table. It was quite possible that the Samoa Royal Commission report would not bn laid on the table tin’s year. Mr Holland: “Will it be made available to members in that case?” Mr Coates replied that he was quite prepared to do that, and that tho report would be given to the Press. It bo laid on tho table next year in that event. lie understood that the evidence would bo ready soon.
