CANBERRA, This Day After investigation into the justification of the requests for payment of abounty on the production of copper in Australia, the Tariff Board report to tho- Minister of Customs recommends that the request should not be granted. Tl slates that the methods of mining and ore‘treatment in most copper mines in Australia, are uneconomical, and they had been abandoned in other parts of the world ior methods more modem and capable of producing copper at much lower costs .than is possible under the methods employed in Australia.
