Mr G. Bussell, of Wellington, was elected Bro. Grand Master at the annual communication of the Masonic Grand liOdgo held at Christchurch. Mr J. Williams was elected Grand Standard Bearer for Nelson and Marlborough; and Mr C. Rabbits Grand Steward, Mr 11. F. Pickett one of the governing hoard; and Mr T. B. Salmon one of the Board of Benevolence for the same provinces. Bro. W. J. Girling was appointed Provincial Grand Master for Nelson and Marlborough and Bro. 11. H. Edwards assistant P.G.M.
The funeral of the late Mr H. C. Jacka took place yesterday, _ a large number of personal friends paying a. last tribute of respect to deceased’s memory. The pall-bearers were as follows: Messrs C. Collins (president), C. Leaper, W. Carter, C. Moore and W. Moyes (of the Nelson Bowling Club) and A. Best. The funeral service was conducted by the Very Rev. > A. C. Askew, Dean of Nelson. Among the large number of floral tributes was one from the Nelson Bowling Club, tlie flowers being, pifcknd from the gardens in Hie club’s grounds.
To-day’s arrivals ar the -Masonic Hotel include Messrs James, Green, Patvin, Treadwell, Mullins, Exley, Hislop, Bradshaw, Bush, Knowles, and Levy. ' ■ ; ■ • ' ..
Mr ■ James; general : manager of-, the Dunlop Tyre Coy., of Wellington, is a visitor to Nelson.
