MOTUEKA BEACH
BATHING IMPROVEMENTS (From Our Own Correspondent)) During the last two weeks members of the Motueka Safe Bathing Society under the guidance of their energetic president, Major D. W. Talbot, have been effecting' many improvements to the bathing enclosure at the beach. A staging, capable of accommodating about twenty bathers has been erected, where nine feet of water is obtainable at high tides. Attached to the staging is a canvas covered spring beard, which was tried out by a member of the committer (17 stone) and successfully withstood the strain. For the guidance of visitors a depth board has been included in the improvements and this registers from the danger mark shown at four feet to a maximum of ten feet. In order to make the beach this season even more popular than last the Society has in mind still further improvements, which .will be earned out at an early date.
