Paperweights: llowarth ii. beat Hayter ii. in a very good contest, during which the two midgets, battling manfully roused the onlookers to applause. ' Flyweight: E. Page boat K. Scott. The winner showed better condition, and using right and 'left hands freely, won by a. fair margin. Bantamweight: B. G. Collyns won fiom G. W. Smith, wlio retired in the third round with an injured band. To this point Smith had been boxing well, bis footwork being especially good. Featherweight: WohdelbornTSeat Pitt. The winner, going about his work in businesslike fashion, and placing both hands accurately, soon piled up a large margin of points. Lightweight: Sutherland beat Mirams ii. The winner, by forcing the fight, completely offset the advantage that the loser should have derived from his longer reach.

Welterweight: McKeo beat Ti;egidga. This* bout was father devoid of scientific boxing; the winner simply bustled his opponent by a series of sharp rushes. Heavyweight: Keav beat, Campbell. This bout, the final one of the evening, was a good contest. Campbell, who bad entered at the last minute, and had had no training, forced Kear to produce his best in order- to win the School Championship. The winner is a strong puncher but sometimes allowed them to go astray. At the conclusion of the bouts. Mr Richards announced that the medal for the most scientific boxer had been awarded to J. W. Smith. The referee remarked on the lad's footwork, and said that till he had to retire, Smith was leading easily on 'points. , Mr J. G. McKay, acting-Principal of the College, thanked Mr Richards for his willingness to referee, and the boys showed their appreciation with three rousing cheers. *. ; ■',
