MR J. 11. MAYNARD

The death is reported from England of Mr J. H. Maynard, formerly n wellknown builder of Chris'tchureh, in Ins "Ist year. Mr Maynard was in business as a builder in Christchurch for very many vears, and was an active member of Ih'e Canterbury linildeis' Association, for about, tcii years lie was secretary of Hie .Association. lie was also president for some lime of the New Zealand Fedciatinn. Mr Maynard was a very keen howler and was well known on most of lie howling greens of tiui Dominion, and was al various limes actively connected with (he Canterbury and Eclgeware Clubs.
Mr Maynard left early this year on a trip to the Old Country.
