Bean Cavalier was : made favourite, carrying £750 more than Kawini, while Royal Abbey and Ornahu were next in request. Going past the stand the first time, Beau Cavalier was in charge from Llewellyn,'- Kawini, Comical, Glenotus, Ornahu, ‘ Royal Abbey, Tuki, Dick, Mount-Marta' and Passin’ Through.

YORK HANDICAP TO MASTER ... •: BOON The chief flat handicap was the York Mile of 800 sovs. Sun Up was the only defection. From and after his performances on the two previous days, Llandudno Wa9 elected as the most likely to v?ih. The public entrusted him with approximately £6OO more, than Master Boon, while Indian Sage and 'h ue Blood were next fancied. King Merv was the early leader from Master Boon, Gala Day . arid*'Llandudno. Before a couple of furlongs had been covered. Gala Day was. .in charge, attended by Llandudno, Charlady, Master Doon, Indian Sage, Te Koroke, Te Kara and King Merv. Gala Day led across the top from Master Doon, Charlady, Llandudno, Indian Sage and Te Koroke. Gala Day was still iri front at the turn from Master Doon, Llandudno, Te Kara, Charlady, King Smock and Indian Sage. Master Doon (Henderson) then drew out, and had no difficulty in winning by three lengths from True Blood, with Black Mint half a length further back third. The last mentioned pair came from a long way back. Te Kara was fourth, with Llandudno, Gala Day, Indian Sage, Te Koroke, Quincoma, Yoma, King Smock, King Merv, Bennanee, Passionate and Royal Mint next. The winner was always in a handy position throughout, arid ridden by Henderson, won nicely, having the race well in hand at the top of the straight. Llandudno was prominent until well into the straight, and finished fifth. Gala Day also ran a good race. HOARIRI WINS VISITORS' HAND I - CAP FOR THE THIRD TIME Cawnpore was the only scratching for the open sprint, and Hoariri (Holland) was made about £IOO better favourite than Sir Archie. When the field settled down; Royal Blcbd was in charge from (Suit Up, Nadarino, Hoariri, Delightinent, Wellcne, High Pitch, Museari, BaJlymoy 11, and Automat:.
