A race between two "teams" of plants is to be conducted at the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew. One "team" will he placed under ordinary glass and the other under the new glass, which allows the passage of the life-giving ultraviolet rays of the sun that are stopped by ordinary glass, and the rate of the growth of the plants—as well as the amount of heating saved by the new glass—will be carefully noted.
